At nine, I had my one, and only, freak accident. While at the YMCA, I got my front tooth caught in the net while playing volleyball on a trampoline. Yes, I was in the air when it snagged. While not fun, it did introduce me to the intoxicating thrill I received every time I retold the story and people screamed.
After graduating from college, I got my first big break as a copywriter working for a giant catalog company. There, I honed my skill at creatively imparting a ton of important information into very little square boxes. Kerning was my friend.
From there, I was lured into the world of CPGs. That meant FSIs, IRCs and a host of other acronyms. I learned “valuable real estate” could be found even on the most remote corner of a Lean Cuisine box. And that Quentin Tarantino had nothing on “coffins” and “dump bins.”
And ultimately, it was on to experiential activations and content, content and more content. And, the incredible power when the two work together.
Whether filling folks with wonder, leading a social rally cry or creating compelling content, the thrill of driving amazing concepts and strategies from concept to completion is always a blast.
